Day 8 - Dramatic Publishing

Day 8 of our 12 Plays of Christmas giveaway is brought to you by Dramatic Publishing who is offering three of their Christmas themed plays – perfect for families!

First on offer is Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus by Andrew J. Fenady. Inspired by a simple, poignant letter written over 100 years ago, Virginia wrote to the New York Sun newspaper: “Dear Editor, I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it’s so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?” Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming life’s highest beauty and joy.

Next is Little Scrooge by Patricia Barry Rumble. A kid-friendly adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. The show is loaded with lots of Christmas songs, that will put smiles on the faces of everyone in the audience. Little Scrooge is guaranteed to delight the entire family. It’s the perfect holiday outing.

Finally, we have A Gift to Remember by Joseph Robinette, based on the book Can This Be Christmas? by Debbie Macomber. On Christmas Eve, during a snowstorm, a group of strangers are on a train to Boston from Bangor, Maine, where the passengers are suddenly forced to disembark and take shelter. As the former strangers become collective friends, through patience, understanding and humour, they realize the memory of this night will be a gift to remember.
